I'd say my style is warm + vibrant but I still love a good dark + moody moment occasionally.
About Me
If you didn't already know, my name is Julia. I was born and raised by some pretty awesome people in small-town Oklahoma. My parents raised horses and drove me all over the state for junior rodeos, which I eventually gave up for high school sports. But I'm still a total "horse girl".
I graduated with a Master's of Accountancy from Oklahoma State University back in 2017 and spent a little over 5 years working as a CPA. I plan to jump back into that space sometime in the future but for now, it's just not the right move for my family.
Speaking of my family - that's the two loves of life down below.
While I was at OSU, a friend introduced me to a pretty cool guy. It took us a few years to admit we had feelings for one another but I guess you can say it all worked out. We're married now, have a beautiful + spunky little girl, and few horses of our own (plus a couple we stole from my parents). He'll also tell you that "I" have a dog. He's a doodle and his name might as well be Velcro.
Growing up, I pretty much always had a camera of some sort. My middle school and high school friends can probably attest to how annoying that could be. But my husband bought me my first (and second) professional level camera. He's always been my biggest supporter in growing this little business.
I knew from the start that I had a passion for equine photography (horses + cameras? Duh). But I also love meeting and learning about new people. One day my friend Lauren, s/o Lauren Alaniz Photography, asked me if I wanted to second shoot a wedding for her and I quickly learned I really love capturing little moments of other people's stories. The rest is history!
